As of the most recent "hard numbers" provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Las Vegas-Paradise, NV Metropolitan Statistical Area (#354) has an unemployment rate at just below 15% (14.3 to be exact). This is sour news for a city that brings so many so much joy, but it is really not surprising.
The economy of Las Vegas is a fickle one - the money all comes from other places around the country and the world. As such, if there is no money at other places, it dries up really quickly in Vegas. That is what we are currently experiencing at this time and the situation does not show any signs of real improvement.
